The Swiss Roller Hockey Association has received the approval to hold the U19 Male European Roller Hockey Championships in 2023 from September 10th to 16th in Seedorf.

The game schedule will be announced in the next few days, advance ticket sales will start on June 14th

Exciting Roller Hockey Action: Manchester Takes Top Spot, Invicta Dominates, and Herne Bay Secures Victory

The Bay Sports Arena was the venue for the final PL2 games this weekend, featuring a match between Plymouth RHC and Herne Bay RHC. Plymouth arrived with only five players, while Herne Bay fielded a full-strength team, making it a challenging start to the day for Plymouth. Herne Bay took the lead within two minutes, with Freeman scoring the first goal. They quickly followed up with two more goals, with Hopkins netting twice in two minutes. However, Plymouth managed to score a long-range shot, and J. Williams got the final touch to score their only goal of the game. By halftime, the score was 6-1 in Herne Bay's favor. In the second half, Herne Bay continued their fast-paced gameplay and utilized their full team to score more goals, resulting in a final score of 13-1 in Herne Bay's favor. The game was refereed by A. Bowyer and J. Thomas.

The second game of the day featured Sheffield Wildcats RHC versus Manchester RHC. Both teams were aggressive from the first whistle. Manchester took the lead after four minutes through Servent, but Sheffield quickly responded with a goal of their own from a great forward pass by Whitton to Gash, who finished the with a nicely taken goal. Manchester hit back with three more goals, and although the game seemed to settle, Sheffield's Gordon was given a blue card, allowing Bowyer to step up and take a well-converted direct shot. By halftime, Manchester had scored one more, making the game 5-2 at the halfway mark. Unfortunately, things went from bad to worse for Sheffield as they were overwhelmed by a well-drilled and disciplined Manchester team. The final score was Sheffield 5-22 Manchester, with Servent scoring an impressive eight goals himself. The referees for the game were K. Hopkins and C. Botting.

In game three, Farnham RHC, who were at the bottom of the table with -1 point, faced off against Middlesbrough, who were sitting at the top. Despite the discrepancy in standings, the match proved to be a hard-fought battle. L. Pickering scored the first goal of the game, but Mills soon equalized for Farnham. The first half ended with Farnham leading 3-2 over Middlesbrough.

After the break, Harry Pickering came alive and capitalized on Farnham's undisciplined play, as they racked up team fouls and saw their captain, Miguel, collect two blue cards. The game concluded with Harry Pickering netting four more goals in the second half, leading to a final score of Farnham RHC 4-7 Middlesbrough. The referees for the match were A. Bowyer and C. Bassom.

In their quest for the top spot, Manchester faced off against Farnham RHC in game 4. The match was largely one-sided, with Manchester quickly taking control of the game. By halftime, the score stood at Manchester 10, Farnham 1. While Farnham put up a slightly better display in the second half, the final result was still heavily in favour of Manchester, who won 15-4. With this victory, Manchester claimed the top spot in the league, and Servant maintained his position as the top goalscorer, adding another 7 goals to his personal tally. The match was officiated by referees P. Williams and K. Hopkins.

Game 5, with only two more games to follow. The match-up was between Herne Bay and Sheffield, with Sheffield hoping for a stronger showing after a heavy defeat in their previous game. Despite a better performance, Sheffield was unable to turn the tables, and the final scoreline saw Herne Bay victorious with a 7-2 score. The match was officiated by referees C. Bassom and J. Thomas.

In game 6, the third-place team, Invicta, faced off against Plymouth. Invicta came to the match with a full squad and quickly asserted their dominance. Plymouth did their best to frustrate Invicta, but after 7 minutes, Botting broke the seal and Invicta never looked back, scoring three more goals through Greenwood (2x) and Butcher (1x). Plymouth did manage to strike back with a goal from Swabey, but the halftime score was heavily in favor of Invicta, with a scoreline of 8-2. The second half saw Invicta finding their rhythm, with Captain Martindale leading the charge by scoring 7 goals, securing second place in the top scorers list. However, Invicta struck first, with Botting scoring a lovely shot in the top corner. Within a minute, Whitton for Sheffield hit back, but Invicta quickly regained their footing and started changing the team to keep everyone fresh. The first half ended with Invicta leading 6-2.

The second half saw Sheffield frustrating Invicta, prompting the coach to replace all four floor players with a fresh team. The effect was immediate, and within a minute, Invicta struck again through J. Shelton. The floodgates opened from there, and Invicta dominated the rest of the game. A great moment in the match came when Sheffield took their goalkeeper, Amelia Thomas, off with 10 minutes left. Thomas is on loan from Invicta, and she received a standing ovation from both teams for her great performance. The game ended with a dominant display from Invicta, with a final score of 17-2. The referees for the game were C. Bassom and K. Hopkins.

FC Porto Secures Third Champions League Trophy with 5-1 Victory over AD Valongo

FC Porto Hoquei has won its third Champions League trophy after a resounding 5-1 victory over AD Valongo in a thrilling match held on Saturday. The victory was a great achievement for the club.

The game was a closely contested affair in the opening stages, with both teams looking to gain the upper hand. However, it was who drew first blood, with Rafa scoring a goal to put them ahead. The lead was short-lived, though, as AD Valongo responded almost immediately with a goal of their own to level the score.

From there, the game began to swing in FC Porto favor, with Charles and Benedetto scoring two goals to put them 3-1 ahead going into the break. The second half saw FC Porto continue to dominate proceedings, with Gonçalo Alves and Xavi Barroso both scoring to complete the 5-1 victory.

PL2's Final Round of Games to Take Place in Herne Bay

This Weekend

This weekend, PL2 travels to Herne Bay in the south for its final round of games. The matches begin at 8am with the game between Plymouth RHC and Herne Bay RHC. In their last encounter, Herne Bay RHC emerged victorious with a 4-3 win.

The second game of the day, scheduled for 9:30am, will feature a northern derby between Sheffield Wildcats RHC and Manchester RHC. The previous meeting between these teams was an exciting game, with Manchester RHC emerging as winners with a 6-3 scoreline.

At 11am, Farnham RHC will take on Middlesbrough RHC, followed by a match between Manchester RHC and Farnham RHC. Later in the day, at 2pm, Herne Bay RHC will play against Sheffield Wildcats RHC. In their previous meeting, Sheffield Wildcats RHC secured their first three points of the season, with a great display from Jordan Hall, who scored five goals.

The last two games of the day will see RHC Invicta playing against Plymouth RHC at 4:30pm and Sheffield Wildcats RHC at 7pm. RHC Invicta has remained unbeaten in the PL2 league so far, and it will be interesting to see if they can continue their winning streak.

Archie demonstrated exceptional skill and determination by winning the U20s Cup last weekend, scoring an impressive 7 goals to top the list. Can Invicta maintain their impressive form and keep their winning streak alive?

After their impressive victory against top team Middlesbrough RHC last weekend, RHC Invicta faced off against Manchester RHC in their first of two games this weekend. Manchester currently sits in second place in PL2, so Invicta knew they were in for a tough match. The game started off well, with both teams going at it, but it was Manchester who took the lead through I. Servent. However, Invicta quickly responded, with C. Botting finding the back of the net to level the score.

The game settled down as both teams found their rhythm, and with just 8 minutes left in the first half, D. Gordon struck for Manchester, putting them ahead once again. But Invicta didn't let this faze them, and they sent on Sheppard, who quickly made an impact with a stunning goal in the top corner, making it 2-2. Just a minute later, Invicta took the lead before the break through D. Butcher, making it 3-2 at halftime.

The second half began, and within just three minutes, Invicta struck again with Butcher's second goal of the game. The pace of the game continued to be quick on the tight rink, and Manchester managed to strike back with a goal from M. Carter. However, Invicta responded almost immediately with another stunning goal, this time from L. Greenwood, who sprinted down the barrier, cut in, and smashed it into the top corner.

With just two minutes left in the game, Manchester was awarded a penalty, but Invicta's goalkeeper, J. Thomas, who had been in fine form all game, made a double save to keep his team ahead. Manchester did manage to score one more goal, with I. Durwert-Black finding the back of the net, but it wasn't enough, and Invicta walked away with all three points.

The referees for the game were A. Kneeshaw and P. Williams. Overall, it was an exciting and hard-fought match, with both teams putting in a solid effort until the final whistle. Invicta will now look to carry this momentum forward as they prepare for their next game.

Invicta took to the rink for their second game after a 7-hour wait between games, facing off against local rivals Herne Bay. The game started quickly, with Herne Bay pressing early and scoring two goals within eight minutes through H. Hudson, leaving Invicta shocked and scrambling to respond. Four minutes later, D. Butcher got a goal for Invicta, but Herne Bay struck again with Hudson completing his hat-trick and making it 3-1 to the Bay.

Invicta had to dig deep and with 8 minutes left of the half, Butcher got his second from the penalty spot. Invicta was slowly gaining control of the game and with 36 seconds left, Invicta captain Martindale fired one home to make it 3-3 at half time.

Both teams came out at full throttle in the second half, but the game became very scrappy. J. Peters struck for Invicta to take the lead, but 2 minutes later, Herne Bay equalized through J. Rawlinson. With both teams chasing the game, Herne Bay struck again with 2 minutes left on the clock. However, there was one last opportunity for Butcher, who took it and leveled the score with 1 minute to go, completing his hat-trick and making it 5-5.

Herne Bay had accumulated 9 team fouls while Invicta had 4. J. Rawlinson took a blue in the second half. The game ended 5-5, with both teams sharing the points. Referees K. Wilson and N. Davis officiated the game.
